ROLE:                      Junior Automation Technician

LOCATION:             Diep River, Cape Town

Our client in the plastic packaging manufacturing industry is looking for a young and ambitious automation technician to join their production team in Diep River.

 

Desired Qualifications and Skills

  • Minimum N4 electrical/Millwright qualification.
  • Experience in Hydraulics & Pneumatics. (advantageous)
  • Production or FMCG experience. (advantageous)
  • An ability to communicate effectively and transparently.
  • An ability to identify and solve problems effectively.
  • An ability to think issues through in a logical, systematic way.
  • A passion for Automation.
  • A passion for Quality.
  • Ability to work in a team.
  • Self-disciplined and motivated.
  • Own transport and driver’s license is essential.
  • Overtime and standby will be required from time to time.

 

Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting the production department in achieving optimum efficiencies through timeous and efficient attendance to the electrical requirements of their machinery and auxiliary equipment during maintenance, repair and servicing.
  • Assisting with the completion of maintenance schedules and programs for each machine as per supplier recommendation.
  • Assisting with troubleshooting/problem-solving in the department as and when required.
  • Staying abreast of, and assisting with the implementation of technical developments and improvements.
  • To be on standby as and when required.
  • Properly maintaining maintenance records as per ISO procedures.
  • Consistently checking the quality of products with Quality Control.
