ROLE: Junior Automation Technician
LOCATION: Diep River, Cape Town

Our client in the plastic packaging manufacturing industry is looking for a young and ambitious automation technician to join their production team in Diep River.
Desired Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum N4 electrical/Millwright qualification.
- Experience in Hydraulics & Pneumatics. (advantageous)
- Production or FMCG experience. (advantageous)
- An ability to communicate effectively and transparently.
- An ability to identify and solve problems effectively.
- An ability to think issues through in a logical, systematic way.
- A passion for Automation.
- A passion for Quality.
- Ability to work in a team.
- Self-disciplined and motivated.
- Own transport and driver’s license is essential.
- Overtime and standby will be required from time to time.
Duties and Responsibilities include:
- Assisting the production department in achieving optimum efficiencies through timeous and efficient attendance to the electrical requirements of their machinery and auxiliary equipment during maintenance, repair and servicing.
- Assisting with the completion of maintenance schedules and programs for each machine as per supplier recommendation.
- Assisting with troubleshooting/problem-solving in the department as and when required.
- Staying abreast of, and assisting with the implementation of technical developments and improvements.
- To be on standby as and when required.
- Properly maintaining maintenance records as per ISO procedures.
- Consistently checking the quality of products with Quality Control.
